These terms govern the use of Meet.it, published by [Company name — legal form] (“we”). By creating an account, joining a lesson or leaving your email on the waiting list, you accept them. If you use Meet.it on behalf of a school, you confirm you are authorised to bind it.
1. The service
Meet.it provides video classrooms for language conversation classes — raised hands, polls, small groups, chat — and, for students who agree to be recorded, a speaking diagnostic after each lesson: estimated level, scores, quoted errors with corrections, vocabulary and recommendations. The diagnostic is produced automatically from a transcript of the student's own microphone; it is an aid for the teacher and the student, not a certified assessment.
2. Pilot programme
- Meet.it is currently offered as a pilot. It is free of charge for the duration of the pilot; we will give at least 30 days' notice before introducing any fee.
- Access is granted progressively to people on the waiting list. We may limit the number of classes, students or lessons per workspace during the pilot.
- The service is provided “as is” during the pilot: features may change, and we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. We will do our best to warn you before planned interruptions.
3. Accounts
- Teacher accounts are created by us or by the administrator of your school's workspace. Teachers add students to a class by email; students receive a personal link and need no password.
- Login links are personal, valid for 15 minutes and single-use. Do not forward them. Tell us at once if you believe your account is used by someone else.
- You must give a valid email address and keep your name accurate, so that reports reach the right person.
4. Recordings and consent
- A student's microphone is recorded only after the student has said yes to the recording question shown before their first lesson. Video is never recorded.
- A student who says no takes part in the lesson exactly like the others and simply receives no language diagnostic. Consent can be withdrawn at any time in the student's settings.
- The teacher or school is responsible for informing students and, where the law requires it, for obtaining the authorisation of a minor's parent or guardian before the class is recorded.
- Recordings are deleted 90 days after the lesson. See the privacy policy for details.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use Meet.it for anything other than teaching and learning, or with people who have not been invited to the class;
- record, download or redistribute a lesson, another participant's image or voice, or another student's diagnostic by any means outside the service;
- harass, threaten or discriminate against other participants, or share unlawful content in the chat or in polls;
- attempt to access accounts, classes or reports that are not yours, probe or disrupt the service, or reverse-engineer it.
Teachers can remove a participant from a lesson at any time. We may suspend an account that breaches these rules.
6. Your content
You keep all rights to what you say and write in a lesson. You grant us the licence needed to run the service: to transmit audio and video between participants, to store consented recordings for the retention period, to transcribe and analyse them in order to produce diagnostics, and to display reports to the people entitled to see them. We do not use lessons or diagnostics to train models, and we do not sell them.
7. Our intellectual property
The software, the interface, the name Meet.it and the logo belong to [Company name — legal form]. These terms grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service for its purpose during the pilot, and nothing more.
8. Liability
A diagnostic is generated by automated systems and can be wrong: it does not replace the judgement of a teacher and must not be the sole basis for a grade, an admission or any decision with legal effects. To the extent permitted by law, our liability for the pilot is limited to direct damages and to the amount you paid for the service — which, during the pilot, is nil. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
9. Ending
You can close your account at any time by writing to us; your data is then deleted as described in the privacy policy. We can end the pilot, or your access to it, with 30 days' notice, or immediately in case of a serious breach of these terms. Teachers can export their reports before the end of the pilot on request.
10. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by French law. Before any court action, we commit to trying to resolve a dispute amicably; consumers may also use the mediation service named in the legal notice. Failing an amicable solution, the competent courts are those of the controller's registered office, without prejudice to mandatory consumer rules.
11. Changes and contact
We may update these terms as the pilot evolves; the date at the top changes and, for material changes, we notify you in the application at least 15 days in advance. Questions: .
